About our centre

Please note parking and entry to our centre is through to 27 Wilson Street.

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre in Cowandilla opened in 2020. Our newly constructed centre features six separate, naturally inspired learning spaces, each with direct access to our landscaped designed outdoor environment providing children with the opportunity to move freely between the indoor and outdoor. Our environments have been specifically designed to engage, challenge and excite the children throughout all of their developmental stages.

Our beautiful outdoor dining hub provides a dedicated space for meals with our onsite kitchen with child-height servery allows our cook to serve and engage our children in cooking and preparing meals.

We provide high quality education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. Using the Early Years Learning Framework to guide our education program and scaffold children’s learning, our educators are passionate and committed to providing nurturing and simulating early learning environment. With a strong commitment and focus to create a warm and welcoming community focused centre we look forward to building and maintaining meaningful and true relationships with all our families and children.

We are so happy with the centre. At first I was concerned as my son who was 16 months at the time was still breastfeeding, and I was the only person looking after him. I thought it was going to be very hard but it wasn't. Educators made us feel both so welcome! The first couple of weeks were challenging for both of us, but then he settled in so we'll! He loves to come to childcare and greet Kevin the turtle and Pretzel the fish. He's very happy as he knows he's going to have so much fun. Admin staff are very helpful as well and staff in general are very kind. Very grateful to leave my child in a place where he's safe, he's well looked after, he enjoys and has so much fun!

Nancy Sood

Centre Director

Hi, I am the Centre Director of Goodstart Cowandilla. I joined the centre in September 2022 as Assistant Director. Here’s a little bit about myself.

I am bringing with me an extensive 10+ years of experience in early childhood learning. Prior to joining the childcare industry, I was a full-time mother and that sparked my interest in working with children. I have one daughter who is studying in high school, and I also have a beautiful fur baby (Simba).

I was born and brought up in India and moved to Australia in 2008 with my husband and daughter. Life has not been easy, but I have learnt that hard work always pays off and never goes unnoticed. I have a Master’s in computers, but my passion lies with children.

I love to go out for retail therapy whenever I get time - not something my husband likes to do! I also like to travel to new places.

It is an honour to lead the dedicated team at Goodstart Cowandilla. I look forward to working with all the amazing families and to create an inclusive environment for children and the staff. I believe that the environment around us always plays a great role in shaping our personality and psychological wellbeing and it is my aim to create this environment in our centre.

I'm always so impressed by the amazing array of activities provided by the amazing educators at Goodstart Cowandilla. We were uncertain about putting our child in at such a young age, but the educators at this centre have truly gone above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, and help our son develop.
