Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Cromer is a safe and secure centre located in a residential area, close to schools and shops, making the daily drop-off and pick-up easier!
We see our centre as a base for living and learning where children’s individuality is celebrated and the children are empowered to discover, explore and become active critical thinkers.
Educators place all emphasis on the importance of building positive and reciprocal relationships with the children and refer to the study of the circle of security which ensures that all children feel that they belong, here and now.
We provide a curriculum, based on the Early Years' Learning Framework that supports the strengths, interests, abilities and needs of every individual child. Our educators base their work and planning on contemporary perspectives of research, theory, content knowledge and high quality early childhood practices.
Our Storypark platform, as well weekly news notes and a Director who loves a chat, enables us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
We believe that the children have the right to move about the indoor and outdoor spaces at their pace and have many different learning opportunities provided and facilitated throughout these environments, all occur in a small group setting. We believe in the power of play.
Our outdoor space is spacious and well shaded with sandpits, vege patches, deck areas, herb gardens, climbing equipment, slides, a mud kitchen and of course our very popular digging patch.
We also have a cook on premises five days a week and we provide breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. The meals that we provide are healthy and nutritious and we also cater for children who have allergies to certain foods.
We believe that we are a community within a community. We have a community approach between rooms where children feel safe, secured and happy to explore beyond their set classroom and interact with all children and educators present in our space.
This is a special way that children can connect; especially siblings and friends of other age groups and spaces. We have an open door policy to all our families and invite them to share their interests, expertise and time with us at their convenience.
So we would like to welcome you, to come and meet our amazing team and see our beautiful centre.
