About Goodstart Forest Gardens

Goodstart Forest Gardens comprises of a double building centre located close to local shops, schools, doctors and off the highway in Forest Gardens, as well as being surrounded by local parks and community facilities.

Our centre caters for children 6 weeks to school age with our Babyworld building hosting two toddler rooms and two nursery rooms. Our Main building consists of Senior Toddlers, Pre-Kindergarten room and a government approved Kindergarten program with a bachelor qualified Early Childhood Teacher.

We were recently voted Cairns Best Childcare Centre 2017 by the public for Star 102.7 and the centre environment truly reflects this.

Our centre has a beautiful, newly renovated playground in our large yards and many engaging learning and play spaces to be discovered by your family. Children are encouraged to discover, learn and play while being cared for at our high quality facility.

Programs for all of the rooms are supported by the Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and cater to children’s needs and development while ensuring high quality care. We aim to be an integral part of our community and ensure reciprocal relationships with our families.

Miranda Tait Centre Director

Hello, my name is Miranda Tait and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Forest Gardens.

I hold a Diploma of Children’s Services and have been in the early childhood industry for over 12 years. I have worked across a number of positions within the sector before starting my role as Centre Director at Goodstart Forest Gardens in 2016.

I am passionate about the importance of children having access to quality early learning – the first five years last a lifetime so we have an opportunity to make a real difference to children’s outcomes. I am also deeply committed to developing positive and reciprocal relationships with children and their families. I believe all children should have the best possible start in life and I am lucky enough to lead a team of talented and passionate educators who support and deliver this belief.

Childcare Benefit & Rebate

Child Care Benefit (CCB) is a payment to help eligible families who use approved and registered child care, such as all Goodstart Early Learning centres. CCB payments help eligible families reduce their weekly payments. CCB together with the Child Care Rebate can also help make child care more affordable for Goodstart Early Learning families. To find out more information about CCB or the Child Care Rebate and if you are eligible, please contact the Family Assistance Office on 13 61 50.

Government Approved Kindergarten Program

At Goodstart Forest Gardens, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our early learning centre offers a Government-funded kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.
