Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them. 
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators. 
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.

Welcome to Goodstart Haberfield

Hi, I’m Verna, and I’m the Centre Director here at Goodstart Haberfield. I’ve been the Centre Director at Goodstart Haberfield since September 2023, with over 14 years of experience in early childhood education, including 8 years as a director. Through this journey, I’ve learned the value of being open and transparent, supporting and mentoring our educators, and working closely with families to ensure every child’s needs are met and opportunities for learning and connection are always growing.

My Early Childhood Philosophy
I strongly believe the first five years of a child’s life are the most crucial, laying the foundation for lifelong learning. I also believe that families are a child’s first and most influential teachers, and forming strong partnerships with them is key to each child's success.

Our centre is nestled in a beautiful heritage house, located in a quiet area close to local shops and schools. We’re proud of the strong community atmosphere and the warm, homely feeling that welcomes every family. At Haberfield, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a preschool program and long day care under the one roof. Our preschool teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.

The above fees are effective from 7 July 2025 and are based on a 10 hour session, for attendance between 2 and 4 days per week. 5 day bookings receive a generous discount per day. Note that different combinations of sessions times and number of days can increase or decrease the daily rate.
