About Goodstart New Gisborne
Goodstart Early Learning New Gisborne is set on 2 hectares just off the Calder Freeway and within easy reach of Melbourne’s CBD and regional Victorian centres. We are close to Mount Macedon and Hanging Rock, just two of our local landmarks.
We have qualified and experienced educators, many of whom have been with our centre community for many years. Our centre has a Kindergarten qualified (Bachelor) Teacher in our Kindergarten, Pre Kinder and Toddler Three groups. We are dedicated to providing exceptional programs and personal child care to all of our children and families.
Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning.
As part of the national Goodstart network, our New Gisborne centre has access to a range of experts and extra support to ensure the best outcomes for your child.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. Each Educational program supports the children’s individual needs, interests and strengths – with an enriched cultural diversity.
Outside, at Goodstart Early Learning New Gisborne, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. Our four playground areas have large sandpits, cubbyhouses, natural and manmade play surfaces and lots of shade.
We also have a cook on premises five days a week and we provide breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. The meals that we provide are healthy and nutritious and we also cater for children who have allergies to certain foods. All lunches consist of a well-balanced warm wholesome cooked meal.
There is a strong sense of community at our early learning setting, which is reflected in the participation of our New Gisborne families. Community, in the broader sense, is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Music Incursions with Mini maestro allow the children to freely express their creativity.
Our Early Learning Setting has a strong Community Connections with Excursions to our local Primary Schools, New Gisborne & St Brigid’s twice a term, Oaks Aged Care once a month with our Kindergarten children.
Our Toddler Two, Toddler Three, Pre Kinder and Kindergarten children enjoy excursions to The Gisborne Library and our Nursery and Toddler One children can also enjoy excursions through the use of our new 6-seated pram.
We have visits from Hamilton St Veterinary Clinic, Responsible Pet Ownership, Western Water, Gisborne RSL, Gisborne Dental Group, Gisborne CFA, Gisborne Maternal Health Nurse, Wild Action, Teeth on Wheels, Gisborne Aquatic Centre, just to name a few.
The centre offers a Community Fun Night every March, September and December to further support families establishing friendships within the centre, Red Nose Discos, Movie Night and Parent Information Sessions. Families are offered regular Parent/Teacher Interviews to share children successes and to further support our children’s development.
