About our centre

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Hurstville – Woniora Road is located in a safe but convenient pocket of suburbia close to schools, shops and residential estates.

We are a 36 place centre and have recently been awarded High Quality in the accreditation process. Staff have worked together to create a program which is unique to our centre. This allows us to explore different areas of interest with the children and provide learning opportunities covering all developmental areas.

Our play based, stimulating curriculum is based on the Early Years’ Learning Framework and our rooms – from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool – are all geared with this in mind. We also develop colourful, engaging programs accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.

This is made simpler through our intuitive Storypark platform, which enables us to maintain consistent and clear communications with families. That means we are better placed to support a child in their learning journey, ensure parents have peace of mind, and time stamp the children’s developments, milestones and achievements.

Outside, our playground areas are a balance of natural and manmade elements and play surfaces – with trees,  large sandpits, vege patch, worm farm, decks, garden beds and lots of shade. We have carefully designed and planned spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam.

We have a qualified cook who cooks fresh, healthy and nutritious meals for the children each day. The centre provides all meals during the day, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.

Our parents enjoy coming together and participating in special events held at the centre during the year. This is something that we all look forward to.

A major focus for our centre is how working with the broader community can help us enrich the children’s learning experience. Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.

We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your family and learn a little about how we can best support you on the journey of lifelong learning.

Ewa Kuras

Centre Director

Hello, my name is Ewa Kuras and I am the Centre Director here at Goodstart South Hurstville Centre.

I am a university qualified teacher with over 14 years’ experience in the Early Childhood sector.  I have always been a strong advocate for Early Childhood Education. I love being part of the wider community, working collaboratively to give every child the opportunity to thrive, and I am passionate about having the opportunity to make a positive impact on the wellbeing, learning and development of generations to come.

I believe it is important to have a mindset where you are always learning new and exciting ways to engage children in learning and developing through play. I continue to be inspired by the learning opportunities around me, including not merely my current research at university or professional training, but the inspiration that comes from working with the children, families and an amazing team of educators.

Outside of Early Childhood Education, I love exploring Sydney’s food truck scene and finding local food gems or baking for my family and friends. Also, in my spare time I love reading a good book and camping with my family. Learning new languages is another passion of mine and I would love to practice these skills (as well as teach Spanish classes to our children) so feel free to come and visit our Centre and have a chat about the wonderful learning our community has to offer!

I look forward to welcoming you and your child to our Goodstart South Hurstville community.
