Close community, nature, and family life for educators in Tasmania
Kadie Cunningham, Assistant Director of Goodstart Kings Meadows, moved back for a better life.
Our vibrant and Exceeding-rated early learning centre offers quality care and education for children aged six weeks to five years.
We're set on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri and Bunurong people of the Kulin nation, located in the heart of Dandenong North.
With five purpose-built learning environments and a team of passionate, longstanding educators, the centre provides a safe, inclusive, and nurturing space where every child can grow and thrive.
Families love the strong sense of community, cultural celebration, and open communication that makes this service feel like an extension of home.
We invite you to take a tour, meet the team and see how we can support your child's learning journey. You'll find us conveniently close to Dandenong Market, as well as Lyndale Greens and St Gerard's Primary School.
At our childcare centre, every child is recognised as capable, curious, and full of potential.
Our educators work closely with families to provide personalised learning experiences that reflect each child's interests, culture, and individuality.
With many staff members serving for over a decade, families enjoy continuity of care and deep, trusting relationships that support both children and parents.
From vibrant cultural celebrations to engaging educational incursions, our programs create meaningful opportunities for connection, discovery, and joy.
Whether your child is taking their first steps in the nursery or preparing for school in our kindergarten, our dedicated team is here to help them thrive.

At Goodstart Dandenong - Heatherton Road, our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and strengths. We embrace a play-based learning approach that nurtures curiosity and creativity, allowing children to explore their world in meaningful ways.
We prioritise:
Through our philosophy, we aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and become confident, capable learners.
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them.
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators.
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.
At our Dandenong - Heatherton Road centre, we're proud to inspire your child's love of learning with the support of our passionate and qualified early childhood experts. Teachers with bachelor's degrees run our three and four-year-old kindergarten program, so children can be well on their way to excellent learning outcomes by the time they start school.
At Goodstart, we believe all children deserve the best possible start in life, which includes access to high-quality early childhood education and care. We offer:
We work closely with parents to ensure the individual needs, interests and strengths of children are considered, and our learning goals reflect them. Using Storypark, a wonderful communication platform, we stay in close touch with families and ensure you're well informed about your child's development and achievements.

I’ve been working in the early learning sector for 10 years and have proudly been a part of the Goodstart family for just over 8 of those years.
I’m deeply passionate about supporting families, children, and my team. I believe in working together to create the best possible outcomes in all situations, and I value the strong, trusting relationships we build with our community.
As a leader, I aim to create a warm, supportive environment where every educator feels empowered and valued. I believe that when educators are inspired and confident, it flows through to the children and families in our care.
I take great pride in the work that I do, and I love that my role allows me to keep learning, growing, and strengthening my leadership skills. It’s a privilege to be part of each child’s early learning journey, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every step of mine so far.
When I’m not at the centre, you’ll find me spending time with my family and friends, enjoying good food, and experiencing new things. I believe in making the most of life, both inside and outside of work.
I look forward to meeting you.
