Close community, nature, and family life for educators in Tasmania
Kadie Cunningham, Assistant Director of Goodstart Kings Meadows, moved back for a better life.
We're your local not-for-profit early learning centre providing children with safe, nurturing and inclusive care and education. Here, culture, community and learning come together.
Located on Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung / Bunurong Country, our centre welcomes children aged six weeks to five years across five age-specific rooms: nursery to kindergarten.
Families value our longstanding educators, many with over a decade of experience, and our strong focus on cultural respect, language development and community connection.
With purpose-built indoor spaces and expansive outdoor yards, children are encouraged to play, explore and grow. We invite you to take a tour and let us show you around. You'll find us near IKEA, the corner of Springvale Road and Princes Highway, Springvale Railway Station, and Springvale Shopping Centre.
Our program combines play-based learning with intentional teaching in literacy, numeracy, imaginative play, science and physical activity.
Regular incursions such as music, animal encounters and health talks enrich children's experiences, while our cultural events ensure every child feels represented and included.
Families appreciate our open-door approach, the option to drop in for a tour during operating hours, and our commitment to strong, respectful communication.
Our staff speaks languages including Vietnamese, Khmer, Persian, Bengali, Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic, Sinhalese, Filipino, Mandarin, Mongolian, Cantonese and Tamil alongside English. Come and see what makes our centre well placed to support your child's learning journey. Book a tour today or drop by during the week to meet our team and explore our facilities. We can’t wait to meet you.
At Goodstart Springvale South, our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and strengths. We embrace a play-based learning approach that nurtures curiosity and creativity, allowing children to explore their world in meaningful ways.
We prioritise:
Through our philosophy, we aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and become confident, capable learners.
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them.
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators.
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.
At our Springvale South centre, we're proud to inspire your child's love of learning with the support of our passionate and qualified early childhood experts. Teachers with bachelor's degrees run our three and four-year-old kindergarten program, so children can be well on their way to excellent learning outcomes by the time they start school.
At Goodstart, we believe all children deserve the best possible start in life, which includes access to high-quality early childhood education and care. We offer:
We work closely with parents to ensure the individual needs, interests and strengths of children are considered, and our learning goals reflect them. Using Storypark, a wonderful communication platform, we stay in close touch with families and ensure you're well informed about your child's development and achievements.

I moved to Australia in 2005. I have a completed my Bachelor of Commerce in India and I worked as a Primary School Teacher and also in a corporate company in India for eight years. I have a Diploma in Children’s Services and have spent time working with all age groups.
I strongly believe that children are the future of our country and their first experiences in early childhood education shapes them into strong individuals for their life.
In my role as a Centre Director, I will have the opportunity to lead and empower a team of Educators to provide high quality learning outcomes for the children and a strong connection with families and community.
My vision is to ensure that all our families and children feel secure and supported here at the centre. Being a mum myself, I understand the importance for families to find a perfect place for their children. A place where they feel safe, respected and supported and included socially and emotionally.
I love to connect with people and learn about different cultures. We often incorporate this learning to educate our children and shape them into responsible adults who can contribute positively to the community. I feel fortunate to be a part of a great community where I can connect and collaborate with local businesses and schools for a purpose.
When I’m not in the centre, you’ll find me spending time with my family. I love reading books and cooking dishes from all over the world.
At Goodstart Springvale South we have a very strong and dedicated team of Educators and we strive to provide a safe, peaceful, and natural environment that engages children's five senses, provoking wonder, curiosity, and intellectual engagement.
I look forward to welcoming you and your family along with my highly educated and passionate Educators and would love to explore how we can support your child on their journey to lifelong learning
