About Goodstart Merrylands
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Merrylands is located in a residential area, close to schools, shops, and local community facilities.
With each child that comes to the centre, is a unique set of qualities and we as a educators recognise these qualities and endeavour to build upon them in the daily program.
Our team of early childhood professionals provide quality programmes based on play and children's interests, allowing them to develop physical, social, emotional, creative, cognitive and language skills, as well as learning life skills.
This is all achieved in a warm and supportive environment, which allows the children to explore, experiment and problem solve.
Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. We have sandpits, mud pits, a big tree, fruit trees, vege patches and undercover verandah.
We also have a cook on premises five days a week and we provide breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. The meals that we provide are healthy and nutritious and we also cater for children who have allergies to certain foods.
A major focus for our centre is how working with the broader community can help us enrich the children’s learning experience. Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.
We look forward to meeting you and your family and exploring how we can set your child on a pathway of lifelong learning.
