About Goodstart Palmerston
Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Palmerston is located about 20 minutes' drive from the Darwin CBD. We have convenient access to all the amenities of the Palmerston area and are close to the large Defence bases and new housing estates.
Our programming is based on the Early Years Learning Framework. Under the framework, children have the right to an opinion and are treated as individuals. This helps them grow and learn as they discover their own identity, and build self-esteem and self-confidence.
We believe that the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow, and strive to help each child become a well-rounded and healthy individual in both body and mind. Our centre plays an important role in the community and in the lives of our families, and we hope each family enjoys being part of our centre.
We have a great team of dedicated educators who ensure that the children's days at the centre are happy and enjoyable. A variety of educational experiences are provided daily for the children to grow and develop in all areas.
Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
We have a cook on premises five days a week and we provide meals that are healthy and nutritious.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. During 2017 our large natural outdoor yard received an upgrade and now includes a river bed rock pool, bike track, sandpit and swing area. Our play areas are inviting and fun with lots of shade to help beat the summer heat! Given our climate, we can enjoy the outdoors all year around.
Front of mind for our centre is working with the broader community to help us enrich the children’s learning experience. Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.
We invite you to book a tour
