About Goodstart Richmond
Goodstart Early Learning Richmond has a natural and homely environment and is in central Richmond with easy access to the city, the shopping district on Bridge Road, and Swan Street’s famous restaurants. We are close to public transport or short walking tracks to parks, playgrounds, Collingwood Children's Farm.
Educators within each room follow the Early Years Learning Framework and embed these practice and principles in the framework every day. We actively encourage family participation and input and we recognise the value of play-based development.
Inviting, engaging, and age appropriate learning environments ensure the children in our care have a chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring all children’s interests and needs are met at all times.
Our Story park platform, as well as regular family nights, centre events and both emailed and printed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor our centres program to each child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. The centre has a working worm farm, and three vegetable plots which help to provide seasonal produce for our centre menu.
We provide all meals which are cooked and prepared on the premises by a commercially trained Qualified Chef. Our menu rotates with the seasons and is built around highly nutritious foods with minimal refined sugars and preservatives. Our meat is provided by the local Berties Butchers and is all free range, grass-fed and organic.
Our highly trained and passionate staff are well known around the community for their caring and nurturing attitude towards the centre and the children in their care. A number of these staff are from various cultures and backgrounds which enables us to have first-hand experiences with multicultural events, such as Ramadan, Holi, Diwali, Chinese New Year, and Australia Day.
Our Kindergarten Room is run by a qualified Kindergarten Teacher, holding her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. The Kindergarten program is funded and developed to provide positive learning opportunities for your child to develop a range of skills to prepare them for their transition into the Primary School environment.
Throughout the year we involve the children in a number of different events such as crazy hair day, pyjama day, footy day, celebrating birthdays, Easter and Christmas, and at the end of each year we hold a graduation party for the Kindergarten children who are leaving the centre to transition to primary school to further their education.
Our centre philosophy encourages all children to develop their individuality by expressing themselves through music, art, language, social settings, physical activities, and cognitive and sensory experiences.
We ensure our children feel safe, secure and supported in their environment by providing them with positive interactions and engaging learning opportunities.
We invite you to come and visit our centre to meet our team and to see for yourself our commitment to your child’s early learning journey.
