Welcome to Goodstart West Ryde – Winbourne Street!
Nestled on Wallumedegal Country in a heritage-listed building, our boutique long day care centre offers high-quality education and care for children aged six weeks to five years.
Our small size, with just 34 places, allows us to create strong, meaningful connections with every child and family from nursery to preschool.
Located next door to Ermington Public School, we provide a seamless transition to school through play-based learning, community partnerships, and an emphasis on wellbeing, inclusion, and school readiness.
Our centre leads with heart, expertise, and innovation to provide a significant contribution to our community.
We are proud to have won the 2024 Family and Community Partnerships Excellence Award at the Goodstart Goodies awards, and be finalists in Health and Safety for 2025.

Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them.
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators.
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.

Hi, my name is Suzan Baljevic, and I have had the privilege of working in Early Learning for over 20 years. Early childhood education has always been much more than a career to me – it is something I genuinely care about and feel incredibly passionate about.
As a mother of two children, I understand just how important choosing the right early learning service is. Families are placing enormous trust in us when they choose who will care for, nurture and educate their children.
My connection to Goodstart West Ryde is particularly special because I have had the privilege of seeing my own children attend, learn and grow within our service. I have experienced our centre not only as an early learning professional and leader, but also as a parent entrusting the people around me with those most precious to me.
I now have the honour of leading our unique, diverse and inclusive Goodstart West Ryde community. I am incredibly proud to work alongside educators who share a commitment to ensuring every child feels safe, loved, respected, included and that they truly belong.
I live by the words:
“The standard you walk past is the standard you are willing to accept.”
This belief guides my leadership every day. I believe every child deserves respectful, nurturing, safe and loving people around them, as well as environments that allow them to explore, develop their confidence, build meaningful relationships and thrive.
