Hello! My name is Melinda Bester, and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Blackmans Bay.

I am passionate about early learning and providing children with the very best start in life by supporting each child to grow and develop in their own unique way within a meaningful and nurturing learning environment.

I have been working with Goodstart Early Learning for over six years and have experience across all age groups from 0–5 years. I also hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, Diploma in Community Services.

I have also worked in the disability sector as a manager for children in out of home care in the Children’s Services space where I have gained knowledge and have had training around trauma, behaviour support and NDIS.

At Goodstart Blackmans Bay, we are fortunate to work alongside a highly experienced and qualified team who share a genuine passion and commitment to providing children with the highest quality care and learning experiences.

At Blackmans Bay, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a Preschool Program and long day care under the one roof. Our preschool teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.

With multi-child discounts and government funded Kindergarten/Preschool in some states, out-of-pocket costs could be even less than you think!

The above fees are effective from 6 July 2026 and are based on a 10 hour session, for attendance between 2 and 4 days per week. 5 day bookings receive a generous discount per day. Note that different combinations of sessions times and number of days can increase or decrease the daily rate.

* Estimates are calculated based on CCS rates as of January 2026, for an activity level of 72 activity hours on a 10hr session and a 3 day booking.
