Huntley Street Early Learning is an architecturally designed centre, built by the City of Sydney to provide much-needed early childhood care and education in the inner suburbs of Sydney. Catering for up to 80 children, from 6 weeks to 5 years, the centre offers affordable early learning with long day hours from 7am – 6pm.

Children at the centre have access to stimulating early childhood learning experiences and curriculum developed and delivered by experienced and qualified teachers. Programs will be designed to foster each child’s individual needs and interests.

The Preschool Program for children from 3 – 5 years is delivered by degree qualified Teachers and supported by the expertise of the Goodstart Early Learning national network.

Our hidden oasis - can be hard to locate on your first visit!

A safe, secure and dedicated car park is available for your visit and can be accessed by entering the driveway at 4H Huntley Street (Enter at The Woolstores, just past The Grounds if you are driving from Bourke Road).

Follow the driveway approximately 500m to the end where you will see our playground and can enter our dedicated carpark behind the centre. Please press the intercom to access the carpark.

My name is Kay and I’m the Centre Director at Huntley Street.

I have a Bachelor of Early Education - Birth to five years with over 20 years’ experience in the early years industry. I have been at Huntley Street now since 2019, with some of our educators also joining the centre when it first opened in 2016.

I am originally from Manchester in the UK and after completing my Diploma in early education I decided to go travelling, with the intention of going for one year. 15 years later I still call Sydney home!

I am very passionate about fostering positive relationship with each and everyone of our families and ensuring they feel trusted with us in a warm and welcoming environment. I want everyone to feel a sense of belonging and for them to share a home away from home with us. We know that children thrive and learn best when their environment is safe and they feel nurtured with those around them.

Respectful interactions with the children is embedded through our philosophy here at Huntley Street and giving them opportunities to learn through our play based programme. We support the children to be independent and autonomous in everything that they do while also giving them skills to take through into their later years.

Our centre features two large outdoor play areas for children of all ages to use. They can enjoy the fresh air while exploring through the natural greenery, the tall bamboo trees, digging in the sandpit and is a tranquil oasis for the children to enjoy at all times throughout the day.

Our preschool teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.

The above fees are effective from 7 July 2025 and are based on a 10 hour session, for attendance between 2 and 4 days per week. 5 day bookings receive a generous discount per day. Note that different combinations of sessions times and number of days can increase or decrease the daily rate.

* Estimates are calculated based on CCS rates as of January 2026, for an activity level of 72 activity hours on a 10hr session and a 3 day booking.
