Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them. 
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators. 
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.

Catherine Christou
Centre Director
Hi, I’m Catherine and I’m excited to be joining the team as a Centre Director at Goodstart Heidelberg on a secondment.
I have been working in the early childhood industry for several years, most recently as the Assistant Director at Preston Dalgety, also managing day to day operations when the Centre Director was absent. Early Childhood has always been a career that I am incredibly passionate about, and I’m very excited to take this next step in my professional journey.
What I enjoy most about working in early childhood is being able to build genuine relationships with children and families and watching children grow, learn and develop into confident little people. I believe every child is unique and deserves to feel safe, secure, supported and a strong sense of belonging within their learning environment.
I work to create an environment where children feel heard, valued and encouraged to explore their interests, while working closely with families and educators to support each child’s individual learning and development. I’m passionate about supporting educators and working as a team, building on each other’s strengths. I believe that when educators feel supported, valued and confident in their roles, this creates a positive environment for everyone, especially the children.
As I take on this next step, I’m eager to continue learning, growing and developing as a leader while creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where children, families and educators feel that they truly belong. I look forward to getting to know our families and becoming a part of the Goodstart Heidelberg team and community.
