Goodstarters make their mark at the annual ECA National Conference
More than 60 Goodstarters from across the country joined in Brisbane for the ECA National conference...
In 2009, a consortium of leading community sector organisations – The Benevolent Society, Mission Australia, the Brotherhood of St Laurence and Social Ventures Australia – came together to initiate the formation of Goodstart. You can read more about our founding partners.
Our four founding charities saw the opportunity to positively impact the lives of children through access to high-quality early learning. Since the very beginning, we’ve been driven by a strong sense of purpose, and a vision to give all Australia’s children the best possible start in life.
With more than 660 centres we are at the beating heart of hundreds of communities all over Australia. We’re a not for profit which means that everything we do is not just about creating better lives for the 60,000+ children in our care, but also advocating for all Australian children and families.
Inclusion is at the heart of everything we stand for, and we work hard to create environments and support networks to welcome all children to our centres.
We take reconciliation seriously, walking together in this journey with our families, children, and communities. We recognise our unique opportunity to build understanding of our shared history, help shape the dialogue and combat racism with Australia’s future generations.
